Fursuiters guide: What to pack for a con!

So because Anthrocon is coming up (will be my first time going by the way!) I’ve decided to write a list of what to bring to cons based on personal experience.

What to expect if it’s your first time

I know getting a fursuit is exciting and you just wanna put it on and go out into the world, but there are some precautions that need to be taken. I’ve explained these in my fursuit cooling article. So go on and give that a read as well!

The Basics

Heres a look at the basic things to bring:

  • Clothing (duh)
  • Toiletries, hygiene, medicine
  • Chargers, portable batteries, power supplies for other electronic devices
  • Any sort of sleeping aid’s and accessories (like plushies!)
  • Government-issued Photo I.D./Passport
  • Wallet
  • Money/Payment methods
  • Any other sort of travel documents like maps, accommodations, etc
  • Plane ticket, train, bus, etc

Convention and Fursuit Stuff

And finally the good bits:

  • Fursuit cooling (under armor, mini fans, balaclavas, water, Camelbak)
  • Fursuit brush
  • Mini sewing kit
  • fursuit spray or disinfectant
  • glue gun
  • Convention information
  • backpack
  • camera
  • Fursuit props or accessories
  • Pen and paper

And most importantly don’t forget to bring your excitement and have fun! Fursuiting is all about fun but make sure to be safe as well!

Hello I'm Onix! I'm Awoo New's Fursuits Editor.

I've been a furry for over 10 years now and have been making fursuits for over 6. I started creating fursuits when I was 13 years old.

I love discovering new makers and boosting them up as well as getting to know the experiences of older/professional makers that have been around for awhile.

I do travel to cons quite a bit but mostly in Canada since I'm Canadian.

My fursona is a Chinese Dragon but sometimes I can be seen as Diana, my doughnut-themed Dutch Angel Dragon.
