Art: Varis

Today we are Introducing you to an artist who loves to create leopards and his work is really fascinating!!

Varis is self-taught artist from Austria who started drawing “properly” sometime around 2016, with some big pauses between then and now.

You’ll probably find him drawing all kinds of felines (both anthro and feral), but he also enjoy drawing other animals and fanart for games he likes.

he mostly draw digital art in his free time, but he also want to dabble in traditional art one day.

he always up for finding new friends, so shoot him a note if you wanna talk!

Find him on:

Just wanted to draw my snow leopard again, and I felt like snowboarding was a very fitting activity, considering it's my favorite winter activity :3

I also changed his face design in some minor ways like the eyebrows since I felt like he was a bit too generic before that.

As always, tell me what you think, constructive criticism is welcome!

I originally wanted to draw something anthropomorphic next, but I couldn't find the motivation/inspiration for anything I wanted to do, so I decided to go through some of my old pictures. That's where I got the idea to draw a serval from some reference I had, since I've never tried drawing them before. I love their sleek and long bodies, angular face and, of course, their enormous ears.

A personal piece I've been wanting to do for a really long time now. This whole "big cat but colored unusually" trend is something I really dig, so I'm happy I finally got around to joining in on that.

My snow leopard Varis enjoying a nice and calm day out in nature, while listening to music, of course.

Leopard Photo Study

I did this photo study of a leopard during the last few days/week, just because I've always wanted to try something like that

I absolutely adore their character designs so far, so I just had to draw some fanart for this lovely project.
Mya is my favorite :3

Lift Off!

I'm trying to bring more action and motion into my drawings, so this was an attempt at that. Bringing in a slanted camera angle was a fun idea and I think it worked out for the most part. The perspective of the background is a bit off, but I wanted to finish the drawing rather sooner than later :^)

I always liked high jump in high school, for some reason. I was intrigued by the technique of the flop you do over the bar so I came up with this :3 I also noticed that I've never drawn an anthro cheetah before, so this sorta "concludes" all the big cats. I drew an anthro puma before, I just never posted it.

As always though, please tell me what you think!

Finally a gryphon! They've always had a special place in my heart, ever since I started drawing. My first own character was actually a gryphon too, but he's in dear need of a redesign. Maybe one day.

So yeah, after years of not drawing any gryphons I finally decided to tackle them once again, but this time with more confidence, and I gotta admit, overall I'm pretty happy! It's not perfect of course, but it's good enough for now.

A reason to celebrate

This is actually my first collab ever, I did it with my good friend Lannean. He's an awesome dude with equally awesome art, go check him out and give him lots of love from me!
